Continuation of a tradition.
As good as the originals.
A great super-light spinning reel.
good for the size February 22, 2010 Christian Machuca (Cuenca, ECUADOR) That`s a good reel despite of it's size. Release the line well and is very soft to recover it.
I like it

310XE Quality June 28, 2009 John S. Wixson (Foot of Pikes Peak) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The 310XE had features I liked. Immediate lock up, no flip back of handle with a strike. However, Thumb-finger grip on handle had lots of play with no visible way of tightening. Shaft through reel (that handle attached to) had a lot of play/looseness. Hence handle had a lot of play and wobble. Bail was extremely stiff and hard to start retrieve--had to grip crank and twist. I put on 4 lb test monofiliment, which is what it is rated for. It didn't seem to me that it wound evenly. Had to watch back lash and birds nests (this may have been because I was just not used to the feel). After one day of fishing, I returned the reel.
Disappointment February 3, 2010 J. Norris (Decorah, IA) Just got this reel today from Amazon for trout fishing, and I will be returning it tomorrow. First, the bail is very tough to close automatically. It takes a lot of strength to close it with the handle, and it feels like I am going to break it. I own 22 reels, and this is the toughest one to close. Second, there is a lot of wobble to the handle on the retrieve. Also, no matter how much you tighten it, it will come loose again. I own 6 Mitchell reels and this doesn't even come close to the quality that they can produce.
